Albers gets the boot at Spyker F1!

Christijan Albers and Spyker F1 have formally split leaving a seat open at the back of the pack Dutch Formula 1 team. Spyker made the move to fire Albers after failure of payment by one of Albers' sponsors.

The vacancy at Spyker is effective immediately with two drivers being linked to the seat: Christian Klien and Narain Karthikeyan. Both candidates have driven in full time race seats in the past and are both currently test drivers in this year's field.

Karthikeyan drove for Jordan in 2005 for then team Boss Colin Kolles who is the current team boss at Spyker. The decision may not be made in time for the German round of the F1 calendar on July 22nd in which case Spyker test driver Markus Winkelhock may step in for his home race.
